Java and website compatibility

Mac OS X 10.3.9 and earlier, I wouldn't attempt to connect to Java as its support is difficult even on Apple's website to manage.

Mac OS X 10.4 through 10.7.2 can't keep up with the current Java. Still there are tips on how to manage each Mac OS X version on Apple Support Community:

With Mac OS X 10.7.3 or later:

Keeping current with Java, you may find some websites start to fail to work. First verify you have the latest Java from http://www.java.com/

Next the Edit Site List preference found in the Apple menu -> System preferences -> Java after installing that Java, lets you control which websites

are able to run on Java that otherwise might think they have the wrong security. Be careful to only allow sites on that list you actually trust:
